Swim Meet #1: Important Information
Hello Piranhas!
**PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE READ THIS ENTIRE MESSAGE!!!
The first meet is finally here! The swimmers have worked hard, and the coaches are excited for you to see their progress. Have swimmers arrive between 6:30 - 6:45am to get stroke assignments from the coaches. The meet will begin promptly at 8am on Saturday June 14th, so to facilitate a fast and fun meet please:
1. Be sure the kids are in their blue Piranha team suits and have their goggles and team swim caps. Bring sunscreen.
2. Arrive at the Cunningham Pool Before 6:45 A.M. Find the Piranhas coaches at tables in front of the main gate. They will check you in and tell you what events you are swimming in. If you have NOT checked in with the coaches by this time, they will be forced to cancel swimmers from their events. Please be on time.
3. We will warm up at 7:30.
5-6 Parents: There is no warmup for this age group, so parents can check their child in BEFORE 6:45AM and bring them to the pool at 7:15am.
If there is a sudden illness please call or text Coach Madi or Brooke ASAP --no matter what time it is– at 661-592-0006 (Madi) OR 661-373-6269 (Brooke)
It is important to know as early as possible so Head Coaches can make the necessary meet event changes.
4. Parking is limited, so walk if possible. Most of the spots in the parking lot are reserved.
5. DO NOT park in any neighbors’ driveways or block any driveways. Please, be quiet as you arrive and be courteous to our neighbors. Do not arrive before 6:30-you will not be allowed into the pool area.
6. Bring beach chairs, blankets, umbrellas, and/or easy ups for your family and guests. The Piranha family camp set up area is in the upper grass. Our guests, the Bluefins, set up on the southeast side of the pool: the front of the spa to the kiddie pool.
7. A viewing section is set up near the shallow end so you can get a perfect view of your swimmer.
8. Kids are not allowed in the clubhouse during the meet. No water/wet kiddos in the clubhouse.
9. There is no spa or swimming in the pool for siblings at any time during the meet.
10. Bring cash for the Piranha Canteen & Silent Auction. We will have lots of snacks and food throughout the meet and don't forget to check out the Silent Auction!
11. Photos: Take lots so you can share them for our end of the year slideshow and/or our website.
12. Jr Coaches: There will be a meeting at 7:15am under the team canopies/swimmer staging area. Head Coaches will have your assignments for the day.
**** VERY IMPORTANT. We have multiple kids on our team who are very allergic to nuts. We ask that if you bring your own snacks, you keep any nut products in your own area. Please do not give any nut products to any coaches or junior coaches because of the possibility of cross contamination. Thank you.
Parents- please watch your children, monitor them, and make sure they are following swim rules and etiquette when they are not swimming in the lanes. Our coaches and junior coaches will NOT be monitoring them if they are not up to swim and/or in the lanes. Also, NO alcohol of any kind is allowed at the swim meet.
Volunteers- Please check the volunteer position to confirm your time slots. If you signed up to volunteer, please go to your assigned spot at least 5 minutes early. The meet will run quickly if you are in your spot!
We sent a separate message about how to RSVP to the meet -- please read that and follow the instructions! We need to know if you'll be attending or not in order to seed the meet correctly and avoid delays.
Get excited for the first meet and wear your Piranhas Gear! We will see you all bright and early at the pool!
